What differentiates captrice?

Captrice provides tools for highly focused, deliberate practice, the kind that leverages neuroplasticity of the brain to build real guitar mastery.

Every feature is designed to make you work things out for yourself and understand what you're doing. The goal is musical fluency, not just replicating sounds from tablature.

Unlike most apps, Captrice doesn't sell content or lessons, and it isn't tied to any course or method. Bring material from online courses, your teacher, or even videos and reels. Anything can become an exercise.

The app is free to use, is ad-free as well as login-free. If you'd like to support, buy me a coffee or share it with others! 🙂

Stay tuned (pun intended)

Captrice is under active development. Stay informed about new features and other updates by subscribing to the newsletter. Not more than one email per month.

About me

I am Vineet Naik, a software engineer and hobbyist guitar player from Bangalore, India.

I picked up the guitar in 2001 and somehow the hobby has stuck. I played in amateur bands during college. These days I am pretty much a bedroom musician. I've also dabbled with (home) recording music. You can find some of it on my soundcloud.

Music is clearly more than a hobby to me and I am always on the lookout for new ways to practice and level up, which is what this project was born out of.

Thanks for stopping by!
